Merax Travelhouse Luggage Set Review

This Luggage “Sets” Itself Apart from the Rest

Unique colors, a cool locking system that is difficult to tamper with, and a few other interesting qualities come together to make this set stand out in the sea of similar-looking hard case sets.

This three-case set comes with a small case measuring 13″ wide, 9″ deep, and 20″ high; a mid-sized case is 16″ wide by 11″ deep and 24″ tall, and the biggest piece is 19″ wide, 13″ deep, and 28″ tall. Each has four 2-inch tall caster wheels that spin in all directions, and retractable handles that pop up 11 to 19 inches.

Four Wheel Control on All Three

Whether you are bringing one or all three on your trip, I know that it can be difficult to maneuver through an airport with a stationary piece of luggage. This is why I am so happy to see that all of these suitcases have four wheels. Why four instead of two? You may think that two would suffice. I mean, all you would have to do is tip the suitcase onto those two wheels and pull it along. But there are advantages to having four wheels that you may not have realized (and probably won’t want to live without after you DO realize them). Four wheels mean less pressure on any one wheel, which means that you can fill your luggage as heavily as you like without compromising the integrity of the wheels (just be aware that you can easily go over weight allowances at airports). Carrying all three by yourself? No problem, just stack the smallest case on the large one and push them in from of you completely upright (so nothing slides and falls) while pulling the mid-sized one behind you.

Surprisingly Easy to Carry

Don’t plan on packing your luggage with heavy belongings? No problem. In that case, it should actually be fairly easy to carry in hand. Although most people have complained that hard case luggage is difficult to carry because it is so heavy, the lightweight material used to make this set brings it up to par with some soft case sets. You shouldn’t have a problem lifting it overhead to store it in your closet, for example.

And it Comes in 9 Great Colors!

Never lose your luggage again in that boring sea of green and tan that rolls out at the luggage claim in the airport. Instead, spot it from a mile away by selecting one of the bold color choices offered by Merax Travelhouse in this set. You can pick a deep royal blue, an equally-royal gold, a shocking orange, or bright red. Keep things noticeable but less flashy with a soft light blue or a creamy yellow set. If you want to be like everyone else, though, you can always choose the forest green set.

Keep Your Luggage on Lock

Forget about those annoying little padlocks that come with your suitcase. I mean, you probably had already forgotten about them, hadn’t you? They are so small they’re easy to forget about (and lose). I’ve lost a few myself over the years, and the tiny little keys that go with them. But, really, how useful can they be since you can twist them with your bare hands?

Instead, rely on the strong combination lock system built into this set. The lock is located on the side of each suitcase. Simply pop the zipper pulls into the special slots of the locking system and it will engage. To open it you will have to select the correct combination. Pretty fancy, if you ask me.

Expand Your Mind and Your Luggage

Thought that expandability was something you could get only with a soft case? Well, you were wrong. Although you still can’t squish and squeeze all sorts of things into this case and force its sides to flex under the pressure, it is good to know that it is still versatile in terms of its size. By simply sliding a zipper you can open it up so it becomes deeper and offers up to 25% more capacity. Just think of all the stuff you can bring home from your next vacation if you leave with it packed full at its regular size and then return with it packed full AFTER opening the expansion!
